Continuing Education

In addition to the compulsory elective GESS course and the Bachelor’s and Master’s courses, D-GESS also offers three courses of further qualification of professionals.

Master of Advanced Studies in Development Cooperation (MAS DC)

The Master of Advanced Studies in Development Cooperation (MAS DC) prepares university graduates for a professional career in development cooperation.

Certificate of Advanced Studies in Development Cooperation (CAS DC)

The Certificate of Advanced Studies in Development and Cooperation (CAS ETH EZ) offers professionals in development cooperation an opportunity for extra-occupational further qualification in current key issues.

Master of Advanced Studies in Security Policy and Crisis Management (MAS ETH SPCM)

The Master of Advanced Studies in Security Policy and Crisis Management (MAS ETH SPCM) provides in-depth knowledge about modern risks and threats as well as expertise in security policy and grand strategy. It teaches how complex problems, crises, and emergencies can be analyzed and resolved.

Diploma of Advanced Studies ETH in Military Sciences

The diploma programme in military sciences (DAS ETH MILWISS) provides students with a foundation in seven areas of military sciences as well as in security policy and teaching methodology. The programme provides students with core competences in analyzing and assessing complex issues.

DAS ETH MILWISS is part of the 18-month Diploma Course DLG at the Military Academy at ETH (MILAK). In addition to the Continuing Education programme, DLG students also acquire the necessary military skills in key areas.

Thus, DAS MILWISS enables Swiss and foreign career officers to found their leadership function on academic knowledge as well as practical military skills.

Didactic Training

In close cooperation with the respective professorships, D-GESS is also responsible for didactic training at ETH Zurich.
