The departmental chairs of the Department of Humanities, Social and Political Sciences (D-GESS) are successful teachers and researchers with a clear methodical or thematic bias towards science and technology at university level.

There are currently 24 lectureers working in the the departmental sections Behavior, Governance, and Knowledge.

The departmental chairs are, on the one hand, responsible for the Compulsory elective courses GESS. On the other hand, they oversee internationally recognised Bachelor's, Master's and specialised Master's degree courses.

The numerous publications in reputable specialist journals, the high level of external funding as well as an increasing demand for the courses offered bear testimony to the fact that the departmental chairs of the Department of Humanities, Social and Political Sciences combine research and education at the very highest level.
