Research |
Research in higher education is a dynamic area which addresses the challenges of the ever changing requirements of the knowledge society on the one hand and the preservation of the autonomy of institutes of higher education on the other. Methods of social science as well as sociopsychological theories on social decision-making processes are the basis of research. Priority research programmes focus on (I) optimising evaluation processes for education, research and promotion of a new generation of academics, (II) the development of methodical statistical tools for analysing structurally complex data and their application in the area of research in higher education. (III) A (meta-) evaluation, for example, of the quality of peer reviews is carried out, (IV) the transition from school to university and from university to profession is analysed and (V) the quality assurance processes of open access journals is examined. |
